I woke up (early) this morning prepping for another day of shoot for MissMalini’s World and discovered the tragic news that 63-year-old Robin Williams was gone, via Twitter. (The last time I had this awful feeling was when Michael Jackson died.) What’s sadder yet is that the apparent cause of death is depression suicide. Oh no 🙁

I hope, for what its worth, that he’s in a better place now and that someone is making him laugh. All I can think to do is celebrate his memory and those movies that were magic… rest in peace Captian Williams, you’re the one who taught me to want to “live deep and suck out all the marrow of life.”

His last tweet/Instagram post was two weeks ago about his daughter on August 1st. “#tbt and Happy Birthday to Ms. Zelda Rae Williams! Quarter of a century old today but always my baby girl. Happy Birthday @zeldawilliams Love you!”

US President Barack Obama issued this moving statement following the actor’s death: “Robin Williams was an airman, a doctor, a genie, a nanny, a president, a professor, a bangarang Peter Pan and everything in between. But he was one of a kind. He arrived in our lives an alien – but he ended up touching every element of the human spirit.”

“carpe diem, seize the day… make your lives extraordinary.”

And who can forget the adorable Mork!

And if you haven’t seen this classic yet, rent the DVD now. What Dreams May Come was always one of my favourites…
