After I finally got over these photos of Miranda Kerr looking smokin’ in a basic white tank and dark jeans (yes, it took very long to get over), I dug into our archives and pulled out photos of some of Bollywood’s stylish lot doing justice to the white tee and denims. They might not wear it as well as Miranda, but they sure do make them look great! Take a look.
P.S. Once you look at these photos, you’ll want to go out and buy a basic white top for yourself. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
1. Kangana Ranaut
Queen Kangana Ranaut, sometimes, has a very ‘devil may care’ attitude around her and I absolutely love it! To a movie premier she wore a white GAP tee with a pair of shorts. Instead of accessories to complete the look, Kangana had some black nail polish, and a coffee cup in her hand. She seems super confident, which makes her outfit look good.
2. Deepika Padukone
She might be in a constant war with Sonam Kapoor over Bollywood’s fashionable throne but while we’ve seen Deepika Padukone in a pair of jeans and a basic tee, we still have to see pictures of Sonam in one. Think she’ll wear it as well as DP?
3. Katrina Kaif
Katrina Kaif doesn’t really seem to care about sticking to the trends. She just wears what looks good on her and what she’s comfortable in. And what can be more comfy than a plain white tee? She pairs it with coloured denims to add some fun to the look.
4. Aditi Rao Hydari
One quick way to make this look more formal is to throw on a blazer. Like Aditi Rao Hydari, you can wear it with ballet flats in the day and if you need it to be even more formal, just add a pair of tall heels.
5. Parineeti Chopra
Parineeti Chopra went completely fuss-free in her printed white tank and light pink cropped denims. What I love about this look is the pair of sneakers she’s worn to match the top. With her hair tied up and no accessories except for her watch, Parineeti looks like she doesn’t have a care in the world.
6. Alia Bhatt
If you need something to keep you warm, go for a cardigan over your white tee. Or you can do it like Alia Bhatt and choose a long cardigan that comes up to your knee. The layering and different lengths hikes up the style quotient.
7. Nargis Fakhri
Nargis Fakhri shows you how you can go rocker chic with your whites and denims. Super tight skinny jeans with a pair of booties and some spiky accessories to go – that’s all it takes!
8. Priyanka Chopra
This is one of my favourites from the list. Priyanka Chopra paired her distressed denims with what looks like a Marilyn Monroe print tee and some pointy pumps to match. If anyone came close to Miranda Kerr’s look, it’s PeeCee, don’t you think?
9. Anushka Sharma
Normcore at its best – Anushka Sharma stepped out from the airport in her white top and denims. What’s great about the look is that you can funk it up with a coloured bag and shoes. Anushka wore a pair of boots and kept it simple for the airport with just a watch and some bracelets.
10. Shraddha Kapoor
This one you’ve got to try. A pair of high-waisted denims with a tucked in white tee and a necklace to add a pop of colour – Shraddha Kapoor went out promoting her movie wearing a white tee which already had a jewelled neck and I loved the effortlessness of the whole look.
So see, you don’t have to be uncomfortable to be stylish. Already scouring the internet to looking for that perfect tee? – I know I am!
