Have you ever seen a movie, in which the lead is such a free spirit, you just want to be her? Think Lisa Haydon in Queen and Vanessa Hudgens or Monica Dogra in general. I absolutely love their style, everything from their clothes to their accessories and shoes. But, problem is, sometimes it isn’t easy to get your hands on their clothes and when that happens, getting the accessories is your best bet. Here are 5 types of accessories that can give any outfit a dash of boho.

1. The headband

This can be a regular hairband worn like a crown or even your mums old necklace worn on your forehead. Add a headband and even if you’re in your slinkiest best, the outfit will definitely give out that bohemian vibe.

2. The anklets

You don’t generally think of wearing an anklet unless you’re dressing up in a sari or something else more traditional. Turns out, an anklet is as bohemian as it gets. If you have a long chain, wrap it around your ankle and use that as a makeshift anklet. Another thing you could do is get a calf cuff, these aren’t quite as easily accessible so if you have a large adjustable bangle or bracelet, strap it on to your calf.

3. The arm party

This is one I do on a general basis (I just can’t get enough!). Stack up all your bracelets on one wrist and have an arm party. If you can, add on some blue and green stones in the from of a traditional ‘haath-phool’ – another traditional accessory that belongs in your boho jewellery box.

4. The arm cuff

Like the calf cuff, these aren’t too easy to find. But, there’s always a way to make do with what you have. Take a larger sized bracelet and push it all the way up your arm. It can have a better effect when it has some stones on it or you can even stick on some colourful feathers for full effect.

5. Flower Girl

This one is easy. All you need, is some flowers in your hair! Take some real ones and pin them in or even get some colourful flower clips and add them to your braids or buns. They’re super cute and super boho.

If you don’t have access to any of these, grab a sunflower – if there’s any way to do it right, this is it!

Psst, like I told you before, never wear all these accessories at once – there’s boho, and then there’s TOO boho!
