Chetan Bhagat’s upcoming book’s title Half Girlfriend became the butt of jokes on Twitter on its announcement. Despite the haters, Chetan Bhagat’s success is undeniable as this will be the sixth book by him that will be adapted into a Bollywood film’s screenplay. He has 3 idiots based on Five Point Someone, Hello based on One Night @ The Call Centre, The 3 Mistakes of My Life as Kai Po Che, 2 States based on 2 States: The Story of My Marriage and a yet-untitled upcoming film based on Revolution 2020, to his credit.
The latest to join this long list is his upcoming Half Girlfriend which has been picked up to be directed by Mohit Suri.
Bhagat took to Twitter to announce this news saying “Delighted to announce super talented Mohit Suri @mohit11481 (Aashiqui 2, Ek Villain) will direct the film based on my next book Half Girlfriend (sic).” Half Girlfriend tells the story of a Bihari boy who falls in love with a girl from an affluent background. The film is said to be going on floors starting next year.
Well, that’s yet another feather on Chetan Bhagat’s cap – and what’s even more interesting is that this time the book hasn’t even been released yet!
