It has been official for a while that The Fault In Our Stars is being adapted for a Bollywood screenplay. The producers for the Bollywood version of this superhit are Fox Star Studios. Originally a best-selling book, and then a blockbuster, The Fault in Our Stars has been loved by audiences, especially the youth, around the world. Even when the film recently released in India, it did very good business and garnered tremendous word of mouth.

The Hollywood film narrates the story of a sixteen-year-old cancer patient, who falls in love with an ex-basketball player – also a cancer survivor. It is a poignant love story that has touched many hearts. The producers are sure they will recreate the same magic in the Hindi version. This would be the second remake production taken up by Fox Star Studios after the much awaited Hrithik Roshan-Katrina Kaif starrer Bang Bang, which is a Bollywood remake of Knight And Day.

Earlier, Dharma Productions were going to be on board with this project but seemingly things haven’t worked out. Anyway, we have very interesting information about who will be directing the Hindi The Fault In Our Stars and you’ll never guess who it is.

Homi Adajania

Yup! It’s Homi Adajania!

About directing this film, Homi said in a statement, “It’s a story that I really feel needs to be told here. For me it’s poignant at a time when we are consumed by technology and are manically running this make-believe race we think is Life. We are such profound idiots to actually believe we have unlimited time here!”

Homi recently delivered the uber cool Finding Fanny and we absolutely loved it. The quirky little film has found a place in the audiences hearts. Also, Adajania has always been associated with edgy Bollywood movies like Cocktail and Being Cyrus.

Now with Homi on board, we know for a fact that the Bollywood TFIOS will not be a conventional run of the mill film and we sure are looking forward to it. Also, whom do you think should be the lead pair? Tell us in comments below. We’ll be coming up with our very own star cast wishlist very soon!
