You already know everything about the Deepika Padukone and TOI controversy – the actress first spoke out against the newspaper on Twitter for doing an online piece on her “cleavage show.” She received much celebrity support for this – including from Ranveer Singh – and went on to post an inspiring open letter on her Facebook page. A few days later, she received a response that, at best, was inadequate at addressing the real point. After that response, there’s not been much said by celebrities; however, when reporters caught up with Ranveer Singh recently, he was asked to share his thoughts about the whole matter. Here’s what he said:
I think, on the first day itself, I established my opinion on Twitter. I think she put in her final word a few days before. And I think that’s that. People should now focus on her upcoming films, which are great. Happy New Year, which I’m excited for – Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan coming together end. She has an incredible line-up; people should focus on her films as well.

(Interestingly, the actor had initially tweeted calling them ‘pigs’ but seems to have immediately reconsidered and deleted that tweet.)
