Bang Bang
Bang Bang

Since Bang Bang and Haider arrive on Thursday, it is going to be a six day week for the new Bollywood releases. Surprisingly, there are as many as seven new films arriving this week, and for most of them, their run would end in the opening weekend itself – forget hanging on for a full six days.

Surprisingly, most of these are arriving with zero publicity. Mumbai Delhi Mumbai is a Viacom film and has come out of nowhere. Meinu Ek Ladki Chaahiye has Raghuveer Yadav in a central role so one can well imagine its release size. The promo of Dear v/s Bear is one of the most ridiculed one in the recent times. Absolutely nothing is known about Beyond – The Third Kind. Chaarfutiya Chhokare has Soha Ali Khan in the lead, but the promo is as poorly cut as it can be. Balwinder Singh… Famous Ho Gaya hasn’t created any buzz despite Sunny Leone‘s item number.

This leaves the other two releases of the week, Desi Kattey and 3 AM. Directed by Anand Kumar, Desi Kattey boasts of some star quotient at least with Suniel Shetty in the lead and Jay Bhanushali following up after the success of Hate Story 2. The makers have promoted it reasonably well and the film at least boasts of an interesting storyline. Since there isn’t much competition from the past, it should find audience at the single screens with reviews, if good, helping its case.

3 AM is a horror film and has some good songs to its credits. While Rannvijay Singh is a known face, Vishal Mahadkar returns as a director after moderately successful Blood Money. Its promotion could have been better, though, but due to the horror genre, it may just penetrate well in the B and C centers.
