Can you remember when you last spotted Asin on the big screen? You don’t? Well, that’s okay. We too didn’t before someone reminded us that it was two years ago when she was crooning for her ‘balma’ in a ‘hookah bar’! Aah, so now you recollect Khiladi 786, right?

Well, Asin took a conscious call around the release of Akshay Kumar starrer that she won’t be playing just eye candy anymore. Can’t blame her when she just about manages to serenade Ajay Devgn with Chalao Naa Naino Se Baan Re while spending more on-screen time with Abhishek Bachchan in the capacity of a sister in Bol Bachchan.

That, when she was the proud holder of the crown of the First 100 Crore Club Girl (Ghajini) and followed it up ferociously with Ready, Housefull 2 and Bol Bachchan while hitting centuries. Imagine being in a space where Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Priyanka Chopra are taking much longer to meet this feat… and then having Sonakshi Sinha emerge from nowhere and sit at the top of the heap!

Nevertheless, the Malayali girl feels that enough is enough and it would be only a role of substance or nothing from this point on. It’s a fair – and respectable – call, but unfortunately an uncertain career move, as all her eggs are in one basket in the form of a lone film – All Is Well.

Well, paradoxical as it may sound, not all is well here for the film, what with yet another postponement on the cards. Although even a two year gap was a huge one, Asin would have at least enjoyed a release to her name this December. However, with her film with Abhishek Bachchan (who by the way is her love interest this time around, and not the brother!) being pushed to 2015, Asin’s disappointment over the turn of events can’t be even gauged.

With no other film being signed, one wonders whether it has been worth it after all for Asin!
