I had to get this last ‘Beat The Heat’ post out before winter seriously sets in. Because “Winter Is Coming?” That was for all the Game Of Thrones fans in the house, who are eagerly awaiting the next season! But I digress. Hopefully my ‘Beat The Heat’ posts on Kajal and Color Cosmetics were helpful. Although, this particular post on getting your base right, has to be the most important one of all. Because you can have kohl-rimmed eyes and smokey lids, but none of this will matter if your foundation or concealer is sliding off your face. Amirightttt?

1) Prep + Prime

Use a good primer and you will not be disappointed. Not only does your makeup smooth on better, it releases moisture throughout the day at a gradual pace, so you don’t look too matte.

2) Waterproof Products

This is a no-brainer. Wherever possible, you must use waterproof products. It’s more likely that you’ll find waterproof concealer than waterproof foundation, so lookout for one you like.

3) Silicone Base

Find a foundation that has a silicone base for the more heated months of the year. If you’re wondering how to find one, just look at the ingredients list. The top of the list should have products that have -cone or -methicone or -siloxane. Look for ingredients that have that towards the end of the word, like dimethicone. If you’re still confused, don’t be afraid to ask!

4) Powder

Again, powder is a must! Just don’t overdo it, unless you want it to ruin your makeup cause’ girrrl … you’ll be looking like you’re dressed for Halloween. Use a big brush or powder puff to dab some all over your face after your makeup is all done.

5) Fix It With Spray

Use a setting spray as a last step to hold everything in place. It’s a god-sent!

Try these out and let me know if your makeup stays put!
