Three films and an item number later, Prabhudheva and Sonakshi Sinha will be taking a break from each other for a little while. This is all amicable, though one would have expected the superhit director-actress jodi to remain a fixture for many more films to follow. A common friend suggested that:
“Yes, the going is good for them but they can’t just continue working with each other forever. They need to explore different options too. Prabhudheva gave Sonakshi a full-on ‘latka jhatka’ part in Rowdy Rathore after her sweet-n-subtle act in Dabangg. She came out with flying colors and danced away to glory. Then in last year’s release R… Rajkumar she had a bigger part and showed her forte in Prabhudheva style of comedy and drama. In between, she even matched steps for ‘Go Govinda’ for OMG! Oh My God. Now she is the leading lady in Action Jackson. Isn’t that good in a two year period?”
No wonder, the director and the actress have decided to explore other options too. Adding her thoughts, Sonakshi stated:
“So far, it has been so good for us. Whatever films that we have done together, they have done well. We have had a great time but now it is the time to give each other a break. We have mutually agreed to that.”
For Prabhudheva though, Sonakshi has time and again been his first choice.
“Well, when the character fits, why shouldn’t I go for her? She is very professional and doesn’t come with any tantrums. She is very good at everything she does, be it emotional scenes or dances.”
Prabhudheva, has also worked with Shruti Haasan in Ramaiya Vastavaiya and Ayesha Takia in Wanted in Bollywood. For his next Hindi film, Singh Is Bling, he will be working with Heropanti heroine Kriti Sanon.
Even after taking a break from each other, Sonakshi isn’t shying away from pulling his leg.
“It had almost become a compulsion for us to work with each other. Now I have told him that after working without me for a film or two, he would realize my worth. Then we will come back later to create some more ‘dhamaaka’.”
Meanwhile one looks forward to all the dhamaka that Prabhudheva, Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha have in store once their Action Jackson releases on 5th December.
