Several B-town bigwigs recently attended the Masala Awards in Dubai. Masala Awards is an initiative to applaud the achievements of the Asian community and its contribution towards making the UAE a haven of luxury and glamour. While newbie Fawad Khan received the ‘Best Bollywood Debut’ award, Happy New Year got the ‘Blockbuster of The Year’ award. Farah Khan and Abhishek Bachchan were present at the event to accept it. The grand event was hosted by stand-up comedian and actor, Vir Das, and several Bollywood stars performed at the do.
Varun Dhawan was one of the performers and he got an overwhelming response for his act on stage. The youngster even garnered the ‘Youth Icon’ trophy. But what added a lot more to his joy was the fact that, towards the end of his performance, Abhishek stood up and applauded for him. Naturally, Dhawan was touched to receive a standing ovation from his senior in the industry.
Looks like Abhishek is rather impressed by Varun! We’re sure it will be interesting to see him sharing screen space with each other some day. What do you think, guys?
