I was browsing through the Star Guild Award looks the other day so I could put together a list of my favourite beauty looks from the red carpet when I happened to notice newcomer, Shamata Anchan‘s, flawless makeup. It was simple, sophisticated, and totally fitting for the red carpet. So, we decided to ask her all about that glow, only to find out that she created the look herself! Yes, I was quite shocked. After all, how many talents can one woman have?
She’s the lead actor on the Ashutosh Gowariker-directed, Everest, a mini-series on Star Plus and she’s won an award already! The rising star had a little chat with us about makeup, beauty, and red carpets!
1) On Red Carpet Makeup
I did my own makeup because I don’t always like what makeup artists do on me. I’m not a professional, but I’ve learnt a lot along the way – especially from my pageant days.
2) On Her Look In Everest
I’m not really wearing much makeup in the series at all. This is obviously because of the way my character, Anjali is and what we’re doing in the show. It’s a very natural look overall.
3) On Her Look At The Star Guild Red Carpet
I used a Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer as my base and followed up with a pea-sized amount of the YSL LE TEINT TOUCHE ÉCLAT Illuminating Foundation. I swear by it. A little bit of it goes a long way and works at day and night. I also used the Maybelline Dream Touch blush to keep the dewy look going.
4) On Beauty
Beauty isn’t just skin deep. It comes from within. What you believe and the way you carry yourself reflects on how beautiful you are.
We’ve got to say – definitely agree on that last point. Though we’d love to see Shamata in a super sexy, dressy makeup look. What do you think?
