He has delivered countless chartbusters for Saif Ali Khan (Race, Race 2), Shahid Kapoor (Phata Poster Nikhla Hero, Kismat Konnection), Ranbir Kapoor (Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani), Riteish Deshmukh (Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya), Vivek Oberoi (Prince) and more while being associated with a leading music company in a long standing contract. However, even though they had an exclusive tie-up for around a decade, there won’t be any binding from this year on.
We are talking about Atif Aslam and the Taurani brothers (of Tips), who have moved on from their contract. As a result, Atif will now be independently working with other music companies as well.
“The thing is that I was signed up with Tips for the longest period of time. It was very nice working with Tauranis, they gave me such great songs. Now that contract is over and I have not signed anything exclusive with anyone. Now, I intend to work with everyone,” says Atif without beating around the bush.
While he has good words to say about Tauranis, who put their money on the youngster when he was fresh into the Bollywood musical scene, the move ahead has been amicable.
Says Ramesh Taurani, “It had been an excellent collaboration so far and we are glad that Atif was on board with Tips and together we delivered many successful hits. At Tips, we wish him really good luck in his future assignments. In any case, even though the contract may be over, our association isn’t. We intend to make many more songs with Atif, even if he is non-exclusive now. He is good in his craft and I am sure he would have a lot of good contribution to make in our upcoming films as well.”
