Decadence is the one word that aptly described the 80s! Be it clothes, hair or makeup, ‘go big or go home’ was the mantra that was followed. The ’80s brought us the magic of Cindy Crawford, Brooke Shields and Christie Brinkley, and along with them some bold makeup looks. Follow the steps below to pull off the perfect ’80s look.

Step One

Brooke Shields was the original Cara Delevingne! Bold, thick eyebrows were all the rage in this decade. Put your tweezer away and grab an eyebrow pencil. Fill in your brows with short strokes and then comb to keep strays in place.

Step Two

The ’80s were BIG on eye shadows. Instead of using just one colour, the models often sported three vivid shades on their lids. Pick three complementary shades like blue, purple and pink. Apply the pink shadow near the inner corner, purple in the middle, and blue on the outer ends. Blend to get a seamless look.

Step Three

The ’80s broke all the rules when it came to makeup. Rather than keeping the rest of the face neutral when rocking a bold eye, the models were seen with heavily applied blush. Apricot, orange and bright pink shades will help you achieve this look. Liberally apply blush from your temples to the hollows of your cheeks.

Step Four

No makeup was left behind in this era. Glossy, bright lips in shades of red, orange and coral were preferred. Choose an opaque gloss that’s highly pigmented and swipe on two coats.

Step Five

Complete your glamorous look with colourful nails. Long, luxurious nails in punchy colours were a big trend in the ’80s. Pick a vibrant shade and apply two coats.
