You heard us right. Fall-Winter 2015/16 is going to be all about moisturizers and creams. Why, you ask? Because the beauty industry is taking flawless, natural skin to the next level. Everybody wants to naturally ‘wake up like this!’ – And waking up with makeup is a complete ‘no no.’ From Gucci Westman to Pat McGrath, the biggest names in makeup are using moisturizers and luminescent creams to layer and create beautiful skin that shines under light.

It’s a look that doesn’t have to be overdone with highlighter – opt for more of a natural glow that can be achieved with numerous skin masks, treatments, BB/CC/DD creams, and primers. In fact, right now would be a good time to whip out that Vaseline Petroleum Jelly!. Remember my post on the numerous uses of vaseline and then some? It doesn’t get more multi-tasking than face creams that work as primers and moisturizers too.

To achieve this look, you’re going to have to put in a little work. Take care of your skin, eat your veggies, and do your workouts. This will make for the most perfect base. All you’ve got to do after is moisturize and prime, or both. Alternatively you can add layers in just some areas to make them stand out: like the bridge of your nose or the highest point of your cheekbones. While some of the NYFW shows didn’t even use foundation or concealer, others used a minimal amount. You can conceal problem areas or redness around the nose with the use of tinted moisturizer or concealer. Good skin is always the best base for any makeup you can build there on. The trick is looking like you just got a skin treatment or facial done.

P.S – Some of the models actually received backstage express facials to get the blood flowing on their gorgeous faces.
