Yo Yo Honey Singh‘s Birthday Bash has already managed to top charts. While the music video from Japiner Kaur‘s Dilliwalli Zaalim Girlfriend has garnered more than two million views in a matter of one week, the film’s promotion too has kick-started on a terrific scale from the word Go.
Turns out, Honey Singh could well have debuted as a lead too in the film!

Japinder and her producer brother Tarnpreet did have a meeting with Honey Singh. During their interaction they felt that alongside Divyendu Sharma, they could rope in Honey Singh for the part of other male lead as well. Since the role is pretty interesting especially due to the Delhi flavor, the performer was seen as just the right candidate for the part.
However, since Honey Singh was busy with his singing and composing assignments and couldn’t take a month off for the film’s shoot, he politely excused himself, though he handed them over a groovy and foot tapping chartbuster in the form of Birthday Bash. As for the hunt for the other lead, it ended with Pradhuman Singh of Tere Bin Laden.

Yes, Abhishek Sharma – who had directed Tere Bin Laden – stepped in to help me. Since we are good friends, he got me connected to Pradhuman and I am glad that he came on board. I don’t know why and where did he disappear after Tere Bin Laden; he is such a good actor. Perhaps he was into the Tere Bin Laden 2 zone, which he had signed as well.
