This production house is pretty much a pioneer in rolling out one hit franchise after another. Whether it is the drama, horror or erotica, this long standing independently run family owned filmmaking house has made films on its own terms and conditions and has never bowed down to market diktats. Proud to call themselves star makers as opposed to star chasers, the two veteran filmmaker brothers have never shied away from calling a spade a spade!
However, just when everyone thought that they would be returning with a flurry of franchise affairs (which is long due), they spring a surprise by declaring that the next in the series will be a while.
As you would have guessed by now, we’re referring to Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt, who have as many as three releases this year, none of which are franchise affairs. Our source confirms:
Khamoshiyan has released and now Mr. X and Hamaari Adhuri Kahaani are two more fresh subjects that Vishesh Films is coming up with next. That’s the slate of 2015 for them. As for 2016, they are yet to declare their plans. However, don’t be surprised if these are new subjects altogether, as opposed to a franchise being churned for good.
Considering the fact that the Bhatts have had some of their biggest blockbusters in franchise affairs like Aashiqui 2 and Raaz 3, they may perhaps be tempted to bring the next instalment onto screens?
If you notice, Aashiqui 2 was made 20 years after Aashiqui. So you can understand that we aren’t all that greedy to milk our franchises just to earn money. There has to be something substantial in the subject to take the franchise forward.

If there is a script worthy enough, then we will make it. We can’t make something just for the sake of it. We have a reputation to maintain.
