After Badlapur, yet another dark and gritty drama has been accepted well by the audience. NH10 is managed good footfalls during the weekdays and is set to enjoy a good fortnight ahead till the end of month at the least. For producers, Eros, Phantom and Anushka Sharma, it is good news and director Navdeep Singh is also heaving a sigh of relief.

After all, even though his Manorama-Six Feet Under was critically acclaimed, the Abhay Deol-starrer was a commercial failure. However, with good marketing and promotion complimenting the content, Navdeep has managed a success this time. But it wouldn’t have been possible without Anushka in the movie. Plus, her contribution behind the scenes also deserves to be credited. And here’s what the filmmaker has to say about her:

Actually she is very non-interfering as a producer. Only if I sought her help to get me something from Mumbai, then she used to chip in. Otherwise from the creative perspective, she never tried to force her way in. But as an actress, she did a commendable job. Guess what? I had personally not met her before NH10. I had seen her films and when I was thinking of NH10, tab ek feeling si aa gayi thi that her persona can fill up that space well. She has that kind of presence where she brings in the right mix of vulnerability and as well as the tomboyish vibe. That worked in the film’s favor. While working with her, I was impressed by how much she put herself into the character. She has worked very hard for the film and given her full self to the role. Now, that’s something that we won’t argue with. Hats off to Anushka for her brilliant performance in the film.
