A show presented by Raghavendra Rathore is expected to be anything but the ordinary. With regal backdrops of the maharaja era to the music that amplified their glory, the show at Lakmé Fashion Week was certainly a treat. Rathore presented menswear in his classic styles but with a new direction. What was it? Here’s what we thought of it.
As always, the Jodhpur designer gave us a taste of the rich but he did it in 3 capsules! This also marked the first time that a designer has presented a high-end bespoke line with a ready to wear line on the same show on the same runway – thus forming the presentation for the launch of a new Ready-to-Wear line, ‘The Imperial India Company’ (IIC). This was followed by an introduction to the Raghavendra Rathore Foundation to celebrate the textile day and finally, a bespoke collection by the parent brand ‘Raghavendra Rathore’.

Chic suits for the suave.
I really can’t get enough of menswear by Indian designers. And these looks from the show stood out for me.
A little bit of this and a whole lot of that!
I enjoy the idea of mixing sensibilities and these looks with Raghavendra’s trademark breeches and bandhgalas certainly seem like a genius plan!
And these! For the grooms who want to steal the show.
Rathore displayed his love and an order that emphasizes the use of Benarsi silk in the perfect way. Brides be warned, because the boy might over shadow you.
Now for a collection this stacked, Rathore had one crowd-pleaser of a trick with Riteish Deshmukh stepping in as the show-stopper!
