I’ve always said that if there was a heaven for me, there would be a beach attached to it (well, I read it somewhere and it just stuck). But I feel the need to alter that a little after yesterday’s showcase of Shivan & Narresh‘s collection at Lakmé Fashion Week. Set up away from the regular main stage area, the show had everyone come out to the poolside at Palladium Hotel and take a seat on the lounge chairs and sofas instead of the black benches we’re used to. As the afternoon breeze had our hair all messy, once the clothes came out, we couldn’t care less.
Inspired by Henri’s Garden, prints were tropical, colours were sunshiny and the silhouettes were such that they took care of any beach destination’s needs. The bikini sari came back, looking cooler than ever, while the swimsuits were hot enough to set the room on fire. Jumpsuits, wetsuits and even a few bridal pieces (Masaba was already wearing one of these, here), this collection thought of it all. Make sure you click through our gallery to see our favourites.
