Between conversations about India’s Daughter and Gender Equality, to see women being celebrated is always a moment of pride, and seeing the latest Shantanu & Nikhil Collection definitely made us feel very special. This weekend was the unveiling of their haute couture Spring Summer 2015 Collection, and like a woman, it was a portrait of beauty and strength.
It was a runway showing in still motion, with mannequins for models, each in a perfect pose to play their part in the Advent Of The Dawn (PS: that’s the name of this gorgeous collection). During our personal walk through with the designers themselves, we discovered 6 things in this static showcase that gave us a haute fashion high!
1. Picture Perfect
Every angle, every frame was picture perfect (Instagram jackpot!)
2. Head (Gear) Over Heels!
Each look was throned, like fashion royalty, and we loved the towering presence of the Duchess. Attention please.
3. Fashion Meets Art
Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all? Keeping pace with the exquisite collection, the backdrop too made a strong impression.
4. Drama In The Details
Shantanu & Nikhil gave the classic Anarkali an avant-garde twist, and used digital prints for the inside lining. Love!
5. THAT Dress
White and gold or black and blue? (Kidding!) No it’s not that dress, but seeing this couture masterpiece did bring back few memories of our office debates.
6. Glove Me Tender
Absolutely crushing over these hand accessories! Don’t you have a sudden urge to dress up your hands too?
