Just a couple of days ago, Head Stylist, Marv D’Souza gushed about a fantastic show Pankaj & Nidhi put up for their Spring Summer 2015 collection. Not even a week after, we’ve been left spellbound yet again. Day 3 at FDCI presents Amazon India Fashion Week ended with models taking the plunge. With their gear on point for a bit of spelunking, the designer duo presented ‘Rouge Minerale’, a collection described by stylist Gautam Kalra (who also styled the show to perfection) as,
Incredible craftsmanship, a new touch of glam while keeping it tone-on-tone, with a fantastic finish…
And he couldn’t have said it better. For designers who don’t tend to embellish as much as they texturise, they sure nailed it. When asked about the inspiration for all the sparkle, Pankaj simply explains,
We filled a pot with all our inspirations, everything, and simply smashed it on the ground. All the embellishments are shards from the pieces that came out of this pot.
As colour came in shades of earthy reds, arctic pinks, carbon greys and burnt sienna, keeping their mining theme in mind, their favourites were pieces that came in flesh tones, which they described as the colour of masala chai.
I’m not much of a tea drinker, but when it comes looking like this, how can anyone resist?
