Expectedly, the two new releases of the week failed at the box office. There wasn’t much hope from either Barkhaa or Yahaan Sabki Lagi Hai. Hence, it was not surprising when both films got a limited release (though Barkhaa was better) and not many critics even bothered to review either of the two. The handful of reviews that came in were not positive either, and as a result the two films were disasters. Between the two, Barkhaa was marginally better and managed to cross 1 crore over the weekend. However, by no means is that a consolation.

Meanwhile, NH10 managed to bring in some numbers and eventually managed to cross the 30 crore mark. It will continue to collect bur on the lower side for next 3-4 days. After that, it will primarily be Furious 7 that’ll bring audience to the theaters along with Detective Byomkesh Bakshy. Hunterrr too benefitted from zero competition and brought in around 1.5 crore, hence resulting in its overall collections coming close to the 10 crore mark.

Industry is now really waiting for a biggie that at least manages to cross the 50 crore mark comfortably. A sad state of affairs where not even a single film has crossed the 100 crore mark this year. With the line-up of releases in weeks to follow, guess it would be Akshay Kumar‘s Gabbar Is Back that might be able to achieve this feat next when it arrives on 1st May. All eyes are on the biggie to bring some cheers back to the industry.
