Salman Khan‘s 2002 hit-and-run case has been going on for 13 whole years! If proven guilty, sabki aan, sabki shaan, sabka ek bhaaijaan, would’ve had to face jail time for about 10 years. However, in a dramatic turn of events, Salman’s driver Ashok Singh has confessed to being responsible for the accident.

Reportedly, Ashok said he had been driving the car when the accident occurred and he couldn’t manage the steering wheel because a tyre of their car burst, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. Apparently, the driver-on-duty was sent home because he was sick and Ashok was called to pick Salman up from JW Marriot Hotel in Mumbai. The driver’s statement has obviously not gone down too well with the prosecution and it believes that Ashok has been compensated monetarily for falsely testifying in court. The prosecution also claims that there is no mention of Ashok Singh being present at the site of the incident in any of Salman’s previous statements.

The court has asked the prosecution to present its final argument on the 1st of April, post which, the defense will present its case too. Only after that will we have a final verdict on this case.
