So here’s the background: Shah Rukh Khan and Arnab Goswami had a

HUGE

(and I mean Colossal) fall-out after this Frankly Speaking interview.

As you can see, Arnab kept labouring the point about SRK’s “bold” bathtub LUX ad, surrounded by his leading ladies. And for some reason asking him all sorts of questions like, “would Sanjay Dutt do an ad like this?, “India’s biggest male star in a bathtub not worried about his macho image?”, “an ad-film maker said Shah Rukh’s fantastic for that because he’s a man with a very strong female side. Is that a compliment? Or something to be worried about?” Er… Arnab, what were you trying to say exactly? And on another note, homophobic much?!

So basically since 2007, they’ve been barely speaking *insert obvious Arnab spoof* oh look, someone already made one!

After that (and clearly at a loss for paparazzi fodder) someone started a rumour that Shah Rukh’s son Aryan and Arnab’s son Che had a massive fight in school, inflaming daddy Goswami even more! I checked, that never happened. But here’s what did;

Ever since then SRK usually gets negative and caustic coverage on the channel. In fact entertainment teams are specifically instructed not to be nice to the King. (Some of which have apologised in advance for the questions they are being forced to ask.) And of course SRK’s team returns the (lack of) love.

Now things are a bit different, as the outrage ambassador of India has grown in fame and recall. Which becomes all the more interesting in the backdrop of the NRI of the year awards; an event that Times Now hosts and airs as a partner and where SRK received the Global Icon of the Year award, but Arnab didn’t attend.

Why? Well because he was in Goa of course.
