Last night, VOGUE India introduced us to our upgraded summer wardrobe and there’s no looking  back. Confused? Let me explain: The magazine held a successful event, showcasing summer collections from their 5 finalists for the Vogue India Fashion Fund (VIFF) 2014, at Ensemble, Lion’s Gate. The designers are: winner Ruchika Sachdeva of Bodice, runner-up Ragini Ahuja for IKAI, Jayesh Sachdev & Rixi Bhatia for Quirkbox, Karishma Shahani of KaSha, and Hemant & Nandita.

The fashion trinity: Anaita Shroff Adajania, Priya Tanna, and Bandana Tewari were in attendance, along with a bevy of famous guests. Kalyani Saha, Zeba Kohli, Haseena Jethmalani, Reena Wadhwa, Madhoo Shah, Gayatri Rangachari Shah, and Ashika Pohoomul were at the event browsing the collection as Anaita shared style tips on pairing separates from the collections that are all available at Ensemble.

The VIFF winners presented collections about easy, trendy, and travel-friendly summer and still, each line was unique to the designers’ styles. Bodice was all about androgynous silhouettes, while Quirkbox was about bold color blocking. KaSha was inspired by the Indigo trail and featured gorgeous flower motifs. Hemant & Nandita also took inspiration from various cities, merging cultures to appeal to the modern woman. Ikai gave us an oriental feel with its leather appliqué and Japanese fan details. The varied collections definitely give us proof of the immense talent that India holds. Kudos to VOGUE India for recognizing and growing such talent.
