Barkha Dutt
Barkha Dutt

The Women in the World summit (currently in it’s sixth year) which happened in New York from April 22nd to 24th, invited Barkha Dutt as a speaker, because really, who wouldn’t invite her anywhere? She has single handedly made journalism a career numerous women wanted to take up right after watching her fearlessly cover the Kargil War in 1999. Coming back to the point, this panel had the director of the banned-in-India documentary India’s DaughterLeslee Udwin and Barkha being interviewed by Norah O’Donnell of CBS news. In the video, Norah mentioned the horrific Nirbhaya case and the sad state of Indian women till Barkha decided to state some facts. She spoke about the instances of sexual violence being higher in the United States and the United Kingdom. Barkha also said that Hillary Clinton‘s presidential hopes would have never been a big deal here as we’ve had a Prime Minister like 4 decades ago! Check out her badass response to the negative stereotype of Indian women.

Once again, who run the world?
