Best remembered for his performance in Love Sex aur Dhokha, the critically acclaimed Anshuman Jha is currently on cloud nine! And why won’t he be? After all, he will be representing his two films, Yeh hai Bakrapur and Chauranga – both officially selected at the New York Indian Film Festival 2015.
The actor was in NYC last November at the South Asian Indian Film Festival(SAIFF) for the World premiere of his next release Manish Mumdra‘s X opposite Huma Qureshi (releasing in August this year). And he is now very kicked about this double selection. Says an elated Anshuman:
It’s my second Trip to NYC within six months for two prestigious festivals-SAIFF & NYIFF now. Its double celebration as this is the first time I have two movies, Yeh hai Bakrapur and Chauranga – selected at the same Festival. After my debut film LSD, these are two films I am extremely proud of and I’m happy they are going places.
Produced by Onir, Chauranga won the best film at MAMI last year, was an official selection at the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) and was recently awarded the Best Film at the IFFLA in Los Angeles.
The flick is scheduled for a July release in India. Yeh Hai Bakrapur on the other hand, was an official Selection at IFFI Goa, MAMI and Goteborg International Film Festival before its successful theatrical release in India last year. Jha has just returned after wrapping Imitiaz Ali‘s assistant Pradeep Singrole‘s debut feature film titled Robinhood Ke Pote.
