Here at the Team MissMalini headquarters, as much as we love spotting celebrities in high fashion outfits, we love them more in those laid-back off duty looks. Hell, we even take that look to work with us on certain days (you know… THOSE days). And guess who we spotted in a relaxed easy look – Alia Bhatt (but you already knew that by the picture). We love her. But we love her style even more! Little miss sunshine just stepped out in something well, less on the sunshine-y side but in a grunge-esque ensemble (minus the dark kohl and piercings), doing full justice! Wearing (super) distressed denims, a crop top, a plaid shirt and super cute Adidas kicks, she rocked the whole low-maintaince look like a star.

Here are some tips to pull off a summer grunge look:
1) Layer up: Layering is on-trend and quite functional. Tights, denim shirt or a crop top and a plaid shirt and you’re ready to go.
2) Distressed denims: Ripped or faded denims with an oversized tee is the foundation to a grunge look. Once you get this right, you can experiment with different elements.
3) Plaid/flannel: It’s one of the most recognisable ingredient in pulling off this look. Tie it around your waist or wear it just like Alia has.
