Remember John Abraham‘s critically acclaimed, Madras Cafe? Yes, the actress who played a Tamil rebel in the film, Leena Paul has been convicted and arrested by the Economic Offences Wing of Mumbai. She is a very popular and controversial actress down south!
Basically, she and her partner, Shekhar Chandrashekhar started an investment firm where they promised its investors 10 times the return of their investments. The duo had roped in about 10 crores from their investors which they never returned, after which some of the investors reached out to the police with their complaints.
This is not the first time they have been accused of such actions. Sometime ago, in 2013, they had even duped Canara Bank in Chennai of Rs. 19 crores. Seems like this time, there will be no getting out of it. What do you guys think?
