The minute Fashion Blogger, Anushka and I saw Arjun Kapoor wearing Rajesh Pratap Singh sandals instead of shoes at the IIFA press conference, we knew we had to have a chat with him. How else do you find out how many shoes he has in his wardrobe, right!? So when he invited us over to his hotel

How excited are you to host IIFA?
As you can tell, my energy is all over the place. I have, sort of imbibed the energy of my co-host, co-friend, co-brother, Ranveer Singh. He’s the human charger. He can instantly get you at 100% – you know he is in the house.
How many pairs of shoes have you carried with yourself?
Many. Primarily because you never know when you might need them.
What’s your favourite dance move?
Anything that involves more face than body.
Which celebrity would you wish to sit next to at IIFA?
I’ll sit next to Anushka Sharma. She’s damn entertaining. She’s very funny, she’s real and she’s sweet. She has these off timing lines which are really hilarious.
What’s your favourite animal?
These days it’s a monkey.
Do you always match your pocket squares yourself? Do they always match with your outfits?
No, I have implicit faith in people who style me. Predominantly, Nitasha Gaurav because she really gets comfort and style as a combination, there’s Rhea Kapoor, my sister as well.
What’s that one question you hate answering?
“Did your co-star give you any tips? Did Anil Chachu give you any tips?” The word “tips” irritates me. I don’t want to give tips to anybody. I want to have a conversation with them.

I always notice people’s teeth. At the hygiene level.

It’s something to do with the characters I play. Otherwise, my eyes are quite dead normally.

The trick is to not ruin that by telling people. We’re going to be spontaneous about it.

Have you ever ‘stolen’ anything from the set of any of your movies?
Lots of times I wanted to. But I don’t steal. I take it as a memorabilia if it’s available to take.
Who is the last person you texted?
My sister. She’s gone for lunch with a very dear friend of ours, Shehla Khan and they are busy shopping.
