We were all taken aback when we first heard back in January that Shahid Kapoor is going to tie the knot with Delhi-based Mira Rajput, and since then there has been a lot of talk and speculation about his wedding. Well, while Shahid had initially hinted in an interview that he would get married at the end of the year, his wedding is actually slated for mid-year and those dates are fast approaching! Since there’s a lot of talk about the upcoming functions, we’ve jotted down a quick list for you on all the rumours and reports that are currently doing the rounds about Shahid and Mira’s wedding. Here’s what you need to know!
1. There seems to be some confusion about what the dates for the wedding ceremonies actually are; however, it is likely going to be July 6th onwards. A source tells us that the functions are slated to take place on the 7th, 8th and 9th of July.
2. While there were rumours that the wedding was to take place in Greece or Bali – and it seems like the family was indeed trying to make that happen – it turns out that it’s now going to take place in a farmhouse in Delhi.
3. The wedding is definitely going to be a small affair. Rumour has it that around 40 people will attend the ceremony, and over 300 people will attend the reception.
4. According to reports, Shahid’s directors – like Vikas Bahl, Vishal Bhardwaj, etc – have been invited; however, judging by Sonakshi Sinha‘s comment, he hasn’t (yet, at least) invited everyone he’s worked with.
5. The wedding menu is going to be an all-vegetarian affair, given that both Shahid and Mira’s families are vegetarian.
6. Shahid and Mira are having an arranged marriage, although it seems that they are now very much in love.
7. Shahid and Mira’s spiritual guru – who, we hear, helped arrange the match and also attended their engagement ceremony in Delhi earlier this year – is expected to attend the wedding.
8. There are rumours that, some time after the wedding in Delhi, Shahid will host another function in Mumbai for all of his industry friends.
9. It seems that their honeymoon will have to wait, because Shahid has quite a few work commitments to get to after their wedding. His upcoming films are Shandaar, Udta Punjab and Farzi.
10. Shahid has planned a bachelor party in Greece with his close buddies, which is to be held right before the wedding in Delhi.
