Anyone who’s been keeping up with Bollywood news as of late would know that Eid 2016 is going to be a big one for Khan fans – because, for the first time in a long time, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are going to clash at the box office. They’ve done so on previous occasions – Jaan-E-Mann and Don released together, as did Om Shaanti Om and Saawariya (although that wasn’t a ‘real’ clash) – but this time it’s going to be even bigger, as both the films are huge ones. Shah Rukh’s Raees is slated for an Eid release this year (producer Ritesh Sidhwani confirmed this on Twitter), and so is Salman’s Sultan, according to their recently-released teaser.

Considering they’re friends again, news of this clash is pretty interesting, as you’ve got to wonder how it’ll affect their equation – although, I think we can agree that Shah Rukh and Salman are going to be much less concerned about a ‘clash’ than some of their fans will be, who take every opportunity to make things an SRK v/s Salman war. Because, you know, it’s inconceivable that someone can be a fan of both the Khans and will want to watch both films, right?

When SRK was asked his thoughts on the clash, it seems he was slightly exasperated at having to answer the question – we know how much he hates questions about Salman – but did so anyway. The actor said that they are friends and don’t consider it a ‘clash’.

We have now become friends, so everything we will do together. For you all it is clash, but not for us. We both are going to do well then. There might be a business clash but there will be equal profit for us.

Raees is an action thriller, while Sultan is the story of a wrestler.
