Kailash Kher experimented with a family friend’s Indian handicraft export business till 1999 and then he battled depression as his business collapsed. That’s when he went to Singapore and Thailand, and stayed there for six months. Later, after he relocated to Delhi with his family, he graduated from Delhi University through the correspondence program. His career in music commenced much later, when he shifted to Mumbai. From singing for ad jingles to some obscure movies – Kher did it all before finding his foothold in the industry. When he croons Sufi numbers, he gives us goosebumps and he is undoubtedly, one of the most loved singers of Indian cinema today.
