Alright, I had no idea what the AIBA awards were, when I read the name first I thought All India Bakchod have renamed The Royal Turds, but sadly, that’s not the case. The AIBA awards are the Arab Indo Bollywood Awards (yes, this exists) and Salman Khan was obviously the star of the show. I have a feeling this was before he went on a rant on Yakub Memon‘s death penalty because the star looks happy. Here are the 5 funniest things Salman said or did on stage.
1) When he called Anil Kapoor his uncle.
Haha yes, first they had a contest on who could touch each other’s feet first. But then, Salman called Anil Kapoor his uncle because Sonam Kapoor is starring opposite Salman in a movie together. Little creepy? Yes.
2) When he gave a kickass performance
He doesn’t really need to do much does he? Just stand on stage, dance in a weird way, lip sync to the songs and voila – thundering applause!
3) When he Kicked out Jacqueline Fernandez from Kick 2!
Salman was called to present the best debutant director award to Sajid Nadiadwala for Kick. Obviously Salman didn’t lose the chance to announce their plan to make a sequel to Kick. Salman told Sajid that he loves him and he’ll see him in Kick 2. Not Jacqueline Fernandez though, he said they’ll find someone else. It was obviously a joke.
4) When he pulled Karan Johar’s leg
Salman said that when he asked Karan Johar to cut down the budget of Shuddi, Karan cut him out only. He good naturedly then added – how sweet of you Karan, and Karan laughingy replied – How wrong of you Salman!
5) And finally, when he accused Varun Dhawan of stealing Shuddhi from him
Poor Varun Dhawan, he bore the entire brunt of Salman’s wisecracks. He called Varun to talk about a few hilarious anecdotes of David Dhawan which the young star listened to patiently. As soon as he started going backstage, Salman yelped – Yeh dekho, Shuddhi leke chale gaye!
