You already know that an MS Dhoni biopic is in the works and Sushant Singh Rajput is playing the lead role. The film, which is directed by Neeraj Pandey – A Wednesday; Baby – is slated to go on floors by the end of the month, and it seems like the team has finally found the actress they want for the role of Sakshi Dhoni (MSD’s wife). It seems that they were always looking for a younger actress, and after a few auditions, settled on Kiara Advani (who made her debut last year with Fugly).
A source close to the project confirms:
It was quite challenging to find the right casting for Sakshi as people at large have seen enough of Sakshi and the comparison is very obvious. The director always wanted a young actor in the film – not someone who has done many roles and audiences have seen enough of her to form an impression or an opinion about her. He basically wanted an actor without a baggage. Kiara’s audition was just amazing. Her chemistry with Sushant during the auditions and rehearsals made her land the role. Kiara has been rehearsing non-stop to look and act the part.
