3-Ingredient Dishes
3-Ingredient Dishes

For those of you who really don’t find the time or energy to spend hours in the kitchen slaving away, or countless time at the grocery store thinking about what ingredients go into making what – these simple 3-ingredient dishes are perfect!

1) Chocolate-Hazelnut Brownies

Nutella + Flour + Eggs

Mix all these ingredients in a bowl. Grease a pan and spread the batter out evenly in the pan. Bake or microwave and check the brownies are cooked by placing a toothpick in the middle of the dish. If the toothpick comes out clean, let the pan cool and enjoy all the post-bake hazelnut chocolatey-ness!

2) Mac & Cheese

Add pasta and milk to a saucepan. Let the milk simmer till the pasta is all cooked. Strain, place in a bowl and add grated cheese. Stir till the cheesy goodness has enveloped all your pasta!

3) Strawberries & Cream Trifle

Wash and slice strawberries. Start with a layer of sponge cake in a broad glass. Then layer with whipped cream. Add the strawberry slices. Add another layer of sponge cake and so on until the glass is full. Garnish with a strawberry and dig in!

4) Blueberry Pancakes

Throw all these ingredients into a blender (around a cup and a half of flour and three eggs), blend and use the batter on a frying pan to make your pancakes to perfection! Serve with maple syrup and blueberries.

5) Pesto

Basil + Olive Oil + Salt

You’re not going to need to buy bottled pesto any more. You can make it at home and fresh! Just blend these three ingredients in a blender and store in a glass jar or use straight away!

6) Peanut Butter Cookies

Peanut Butter + Eggs + Brown Sugar

These are my fave! Just blend all these ingredients together in a bowl (1 cup peanut butter, 1 cup sugar & 1 egg). Then lay out a tray with baking paper. Place small cookie-shaped dollops of the batter on the baking paper. These don’t spread so you can make them a little bigger. Bake and munch away!

7) Banana Peanut Butter Sundae

Frozen bananas + Peanut Butter + Almonds

Pop a couple of bananas in the deep freezer the night before you make this. Then simply blend the frozen bananas and two tablespoons of unsalted/unsweetened peanut butter in a blender. Garnish with loads of diced almonds and grab some spoons to dig in!

8) Shortbread Biscuits

Flour + Butter + Powdered sugar

Start by creaming together two or three sticks of butter with half a cup of powdered sugar. Add the flour in bit by bit and keep stirring till your mixture becomes a soft dough. Roll this dough out till it’s about quarter of an inch thick and use cookie cutters to make some cool shapes. Place these shapes on some baking paper lined trays and bake till about pale/golden brown.

9) Flour-less Chocolate Cake

Eggs + Butter + Chocolate

Whisk two to three eggs in a bowl till they’re nice and frothy. In another bowl, add your chocolate and butter to a microwave proof bowl, melt the two and blend together until smooth. Fold a third of the egg mixture into the chocolate butter mixture in a baking pan and mix. Once blended, repeat until all ingredients are blended. Do not over-stir as the eggs may deflate if you do so. Bake until the cake is perfectly soft and cooked. Use a toothpick to check. Garnish with fruits and gobble away!

10) Peanut Butter Mousse/Dip/Frosting

Peanut Butter + Coconut Cream + Maple Syrup

Whip the coconut cream and Maple Syrup till you have a nice smooth consistency. Then add loads of peanut butter and you’re done. This can be a stand alone dessert or you can use this as frosting on some cakes or muffins. Alternatively, this even works as a high protein dip you can enjoy with some crunchy sliced apples! Yum.
