I don’t know about you, but I feel very personally affected by the fact that Karan Johar is now leaving Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. He shot his last episode earlier this week and tweeted saying that it was a very emotional moment for him. Shahid Kapoor, too, took to Twitter to say that Karan would be sorely missed on the sets. In fact, Lauren Gottlieb, who is also judging the show, told us that Karan and Shahid have become like bros on the sets of the show, and Karan even said he felt like he was “letting down a brother.”
So since Karan will no longer be a part of the show, the channel is, of course, looking for a replacement for him. We’ve heard two names doing the rounds so far – Farah Khan and Malaika Arora Khan. As far as we know, neither name has been finalised just yet. Farah, apparently, had a contract with Colors (since she hosted part of the last Bigg Boss season) saying that she would host another show for them. Malaika, on the other hand, was also approached but apparently had date issues that she has now worked out.
There’s no official confirmation from the Colors team yet, but it is very likely that Karan’s final replacement will be either Farah or Malaika. Both make sense – Farah is, of course, a famous choreographer with years of experience, so she’s definitely an expert. Malaika, on the other hand, is known for her Bollywood dance songs, and would add some glamour value to the entire show.
We’ll wait for confirmation, but either way – we’re going to miss Karan on Jhalak!
