In an interview to Niranjan Iyengar, Anushka Sharma candidly spoke about the failure of Bombay Velvet and the effect it had on her. Actors usually shy away from discussing the fate of their movies once the said movie releases, but Anushka has always been honest to the media. When Niranjan asked her about her feelings when Bombay Velvet flopped, here’s what she said:

I have never faced a flop. This is the first time I am saying this, I’ve never faced it before. My films have done average well or they have done really well. It has never been like what happened with Bombay Velvet and it’s really painful. I was feeling like some death has happened in the family. It is painful as you are so invested in the film. As I don’t do so many films, I really get attached to the ones I do, I’m really involved. I had the best time shooting for it. Creatively, it was the best experience. It was very unfortunate that it didn’t make the money it could have, it didn’t become the film it could have. But I think you need to have these kinds of things in life, to keep you grounded.

Atta girl!
