You’ll agree when someone tells you the LBD is the most versatile piece in your wardrobe. It is that no-brainer piece you’d wear to a party (or multiple) and the same one that makes you feel sexy and classy at the same time. So yes, it’s versatile in itself, but how many times can you get away with wearing the same LBD when you feel like you have nothing to wear? Correct answer – as many as you like.

Your little black dress has the ability to look brand new, each time you wear it – all it takes is a few other pieces that are already in your wardrobe. Check these off with me…

1. Your staple striped shirt

I took my LBD from last night’s party to work, with just the addition of a striped office shirt. Tied around my waist with my sleeves cuffed like a fashion girl – this could be your new office LBD, and could even work at meetings.

2. Your varsity jacket

Think of the jacket you wear on flights when it gets cold or on nights when it’s cool enough for a jacket. Now throw that on your LBD and keep the sneakers – your LBD can now be taken to the next IPL game.

3. Your trusty crop-top

Yes, you need high waist trousers for your crop-tops but you can multi-use them by throwing them on your LBD. So if you already wore your dress on Friday, there’s no reason you can’t wear it out Saturday night looking like this.

4. Your colourful shawl

Don’t own a shawl? I’m sure your mum does. Borrow from her closet and pick out the brightest one possible. Wrap it on with a belt and pop on your jewelled kohlapuris – it doesn’t get more boho than this!

5. Your stylish waistcoat

This can be worn to work without the necklace and to party with it on. Either way, it’s the simplest of the lot and the most fashion girl friendly too (all black et al). High heels and sunglasses are optional.

If you know me, you’d know that I try to reuse and restyle my clothes in every way possible. So making the most out of a classic piece like this was obviously a must for me. Which one of these are you going to try first?
