We at MissMalini.com were extremely happy and proud to be the blogging partners at the first edition of the Goa Rhythm and Blues festival organised by Genesis Foundation. The two-day festival was held at the gorgeous Taj Aguada (overlooking the beautiful Sinquerim beach, where I had earlier broken my back while attempting water sports) and the money raised will be used to treat 15 critically ill under-privileged children. So check out the five reasons the Goa RnB fest was totally epic.

1) Because it was at the Bay View Lawns of Vivanta by Taj-Fort Aguada

What a breathtaking setup. The picturesque location was enough for us to enjoy the good vibes!

2) Because the performances were spectacular

From Herman Abreo Blues Band to Aviv Pereira Project featuring Spencer, Maybe Pearce, Divine Raaga, Soulmate, and Sun, everyone killed it on day 1! On day 2, The Goan Serenaders took no time in getting the audience up and dancing with Goan folk tunes. MoonArra, The Doors of Perception and Ministry of Blues killed it. The rain Gods came and interrupted the play for a bit, but the event continued with Shilpa Rao enthralling us with her performance.

Here’s her bit.

3) Because even the rains couldn’t wash away the spirits

Yep, heavy rains in October, who would’ve thought of that? But that didn’t hamper the spirits of the wonderful people and the singers and the party was taken inside! What’s life without some drama anyway, right?

4) Because Grey Goose treated us to the best cocktails

Seriously, nothing brought us more joy than the sight of these beauties.

5) Because it’s all for a wonderful cause!

As we said before, this event was organised in order to raise money for 15 critically ill under-privileged children and the good news is that Genesis Foundation was able to raise the required amount. Isn’t that amazing?

So now that you know how epic this festival was, make sure you go for it next year!
