Let’s be honest, ladies – no matter how much you love the colder months of the year, your hair does not. A girl’s greatest accessory, whether you’re rocking a bob, a centre-parted high ponytail or just waist-length layers, is healthy hair. So, instead of letting your hair take the abuse, let’s take cover and begin the hair care process, stat! You can choose to use a few or all the products listed below as per your liking but if your best friend is your blow dryer/hair iron, then you should probably start the process with a protective serum or spray.

1. Serums & Sprays

To improve the look of dry, brittle hair and prevent split ends, use a protective serum before you set your hair with any heated appliances. And it always helps to add oil to your routine as well.

2. Sulphate-Free Shampoo

For hair that’s weakened or damaged due to colour or chemicals, opt for a shampoo that’s rich in antioxidants and reconstructive keratin. Using a sulphate free shampoo is milder on your scalp and hair, and builds up your damaged hair cells. However, try to wash your hair at a minimum as it could lead to your hair becoming very dry.

3. Deep Conditioning Treatment

It doesn’t take long before your hair starts to unravel and misbehave. You need something that supports and takes care to transform the damaged or processed hair. Swap out your usual conditioner and opt for hydrating and moisturising masques.

4. Microfibre Towel

It’s ideal to use something that won’t cause frizz. Something smooth and absorbent. So, it’s best to use a microfibre towel or even a cotton t-shirt. And make sure to stay away from terrycloth and textured towels. Don’t rub your curls when drying, as this will cause friction. Instead, dry your curls by dabbing them gently!

5. Humidifier

As ridiculous as this sounds, a humidifier stops your hair from drying out. However, if your hair becomes very dry, try opting for a trim to keep your hair in good health. P.S – studies have shown that it can improve hair growth! #WIN
