Sonam Kapoor has a lot of reason to celebrate right now – not only is she getting good reviews for Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, but the film has also done very well at the box office, making it her career’s biggest opener. In fact, I’ll admit to being surprised, too – at first glance, Sonam doesn’t seem like your quintessential Barjatya heroine, but she was gorgeous, graceful and had that kind of “softness” about her that you’ve come to expect from a Rajshri film.

First of all to be cast opposite Salman Khan in a Sooraj Barjatya film is a big achievement. Sonam is not a decorative piece in the film, she has acted really well. Initially when the cast was announced people had raised eyebrows but then everyone saw how lovely a couple she and Salman made as Prem and Maithali. There is no stopping this girl. She has a very bright future.

Sonam is very good in the film. Not only does she look beautiful on screen but also got under the skin of her character. Although she has a very urban image she fit beautifully into the character of a traditional girl. This film is a turning point in her career.
