The second I laid my eyes on a pair of high-waist trousers at Zara, I knew they’d be my new closet favourites. Ever since I carried them home, I’ve worn them multiple times and they’ve made me feel great every single time. The thing about high-waist trousers is that they work like comfortable Spanx. They push in your belly immediately, they make your butt look great and your legs look like they go on for days – what’s not to love? Since I wear mine so often, I always try to make them look as different as possible. Here are three ways to style your high-waist wonders…

1. With some sequins

Yes, it’s great when people can tell you’re wearing those high-waist trousers (hello crop-tops), but you can totally pair it with a regular length tanks too. I wore this look out at night. Black on black is my favourite, so this had to be done.

2. With your basic tank

My basic white tank is easily the most versatile piece in my wardrobe. It can be worn with so many things, in so many ways. I tied mine up at the back and pulled a Kim Kardashian, making it look like a crop top.

3. With a sports bra

You’ve seen this before and it was by far the coolest way to wear your high-waist pants. My Koovs sports bra passed off as a crop and gave the otherwise formal pants a sporty edge.

Do you see what I mean about the flat tummy, butt and legs? And it’s all because of the pants. I made my mum buy a pair too and she can’t get enough of them.
