Yesterday evening my favourite architect, Ashiesh Shah invited me to a sundowner at the rooftop of his latest work of art – a Penthouse in Cuffe Parade. I don’t think I’ve seen anything quite like it and so I’m going to let the pictures do the talking!

Mittal Grandeur

Psst! Bollywood peeps I spotted looking happy/shiny Sonam Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arjun Rampal, Mehr Jesia and Masaba Gupta.

You should know this – one step into this stunning multi-level home and you’re quickly transported into what feels like a chic New York apartment in the Upper East Side (and if you were at the party on the terrace, than potentially a swanky Hollywood do in LA!). The only thing that rivals the absolutely breath-taking 360* view of the city, is the collection of contemporary art and design in the apartment itself; from TnT, to Atul Dodiya, Rana Begum, Shilpa Gupta, David Weeks, Lindsey Adleman, the list is endless! Even the walls were covered in materials as diverse as copper, honey coloured veneer, black stone and cement panels. Nowshad’s personal favourite of course was the herb garden in the open kitchen and mine? Well the blazing fire up top! #HotDayum

While the party raged on around the various decks of the terrace, there was a really unique corner carved out and created by Satya Hinduja for a collective immersive art experience as well. You put on headphones, inhaled white sage and let the canvas beckon your brushes. I’m no artist but this was super fun and interesting and reminded me of a similar experience I had back in 2013 at the Bhavishyavani Backyard in Bandra. (I don’t think I knew you then Ashiesh, but I was most thrilled to have discovered the frequency of love!) Check out what the canvas ended up looking like in the album below!

Also, I absolutely love it when serendipity kicks in, #happyheart that I got to spend time with Udit Bhambri who I met last year in Jaipur at the WPP Stream Un-conference. He’s one of those people that just throws so much love my way constantly that I feel a supernova of sunshine in my heart. Thank you for being like that Udit, you’re fantastic and I love you!
PS. Neha Dhanuka thank you for being our 6 degrees of blog loving. And Sunny Sara, I’m coming to District this weekend with the crew. #PakkaPromise

Part of the evening I spent having the most fabulous conversation with Vijendra Bhardwaj, GQ’s Fashion Director, (how fabulous is that hat?!) about pop bands we grew up to and I’m happy to report I am no longer the only one who thinks Michael Learns To Rock were the biggest deal ever *ahem, I’m looking at you Karan*

One of my favourite PR peeps Elisha Saigal was finally off duty (after about 10 years) and Nowshad was super pleased with himself that he got her to have 2 tequila shots to celebrate! Hahaha #WellPlayed

And finally, have you ever met a ninth-generation Italian/Indian jeweller who just opened a nightclub in a palace in Jaipur? Oh well then you clearly don’t know the extraordinary Samir Kasliwal and there’s a blog coming up about a trip to Jaipur now I most definitely have to make!
