On the 19th of February, at the Le Meridian Hotel, Dubai saw a beauty contest truly unique to the world of pageantry – Mrs. India Dubai International. (Yes, you read correctly – Mrs.). Unlike some of the more traditional beauty pageants, Mrs. India Dubai International is designed to promote today’s married woman. The contest not only highlights the personal accomplishments of each contestant, but also pays tribute to their commitment to family and to marriage. How’s that for new age?
We loved everything about the evening, from the interview competition and the evening gown round (where, by the way, the contestants are escorted by their husbands…adorbs!), to the live performances and cheering family members. And of course, the highlight of the evening, celebrity judge Dia Mirza. Having previously won titles in both the Ms. India and Ms. Asia Pacific pageants, who better to judge the contestants for Mrs. India Dubai?
We caught up with the beauty queen before the competition for a little téte-á-téte, and it was all about #girlpower!
