Sonam Kapoor is the new brand ambassador of a brand that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan used to endorse for many years. Recently, there were reports that Sonam has “replaced” Aishwarya as their brand ambassador.
However, after reading such reports, the Executive Director of Kalyan Jewellers, Ramesh Kalyanaraman took to social media to say:
Aishwarya Rai has been an integral part of Kalyan Jewellers’ brand building efforts. It is disappointing to see unwarranted media speculations. Our relationship with her is much beyond the brand’s association, we will be always thankful to her and wish her all success.
While Aishwarya’s contract with them ended months before Sonam was signed, our sources tell us that the reason cited for this has been Sonam’s popularity after Neerja.
The brand did a survey for their new brand ambassador and Sonam was the one who topped it due to her digital media presence. In fact, they’ll be paying double the amount to her for endorsing this brand.
