Author Nicolas Barreau‘s second novel The Ingredients of Love happens to be one of my favourite books. Yes, the romance between the two protagonists is the crux of its story. But the backdrop of Paris and the vivid description of various French desserts and delicacies add a lot of essence to this tale. You cannot sit through this book without feeling hungry. I have read various other romantic novels based in Paris – after all it’s the city of love and light. So I’ve always had those dreams of visiting this magical city with my future partner. But when I read The Ingredients of Love, I decided that one day I will go there on a food trip all by myself.
Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor, who is currently shooting in Paris with Ranveer Singh, is kinda sorta living my dream. Though she’s there for work and not leisure, she’s still managing to chill across the city during her time-out. And she recently cheated on her diet and treated herself with a yummy meal.
If only my bank account had sufficient moolah to let me take a trip to Paris. Someday.
