Kalki Koechlin on Man's World
Kalki Koechlin

What is wrong with people?

Kalki Koechlin, who can really light up a room with her presence, was at the FICCI FLO event in Japur to perform her strongly-worded powerful monologue The Truths Of Womanhood. After her amazing performance and a very informative panel discussion, the floor opened for questions. From the looks of it, her monologue clearly didn’t affect some people in a way that it was meant to, because she was asked the following question by a reporter.

“Why are you against men? Has this anger increased after you got divorced?”

I wish I were kidding.

I am so mad right now. Kalki has always identified herself as a feminist, but that in no way makes her a “man-hater.” I’m pretty sure the next reporter might have wanted to ask her why she is such a “feminazi” – as if wanting equality between genders somehow equates to Nazism. As if having an equal society will have the same repercussions on humanity as Hitler did.

Sigh.

Unsurprisingly, Kalki tackled the question like a boss.

She said:

I am not a man-hater. If you think Feminism is about hating men, you need to Google your facts.

Do you, Kalki! Do you!
