Dipika Kakar, the actress who plays Simar in the infamous show Sasural Simar Ka spoke to Mid-Day about the show. In a new and pretty hilarious twist in the serial, Simar has turned into fly and that has clearly blown everyone’s mind. Sasural Simar Ka has also been under fire for copying the ‘House of Black and White’ Game Of Thrones trailer. Dipika bravely defended all this and much more in the interview, here are excerpts –
On Simar turning into a fly –
Creatively, as an actor, I have no say in the story line and so, there are no reactions. I am narrated the script and I have to perform. When I heard about the upcoming track, I looked at it from Simar’s point of view and the real Dipika was somewhere in the back.
On Game Of Thrones –
Many jokes are floating around — like how it has been copied from Game of Thrones, but they don’t affect me as our show has been a trendsetter in many ways.
And how she reacts to the jokes about her show –
As I said, I take it as a part of the success the show has gained. Many of our tracks have later become trendsetters on TV. When something is doing well, people are bound to pull it down.
